Fun in Fredrikstad with Bjorg and Torunn

Halo all
We just got back to Oslo after an hour train ride south to and from Fredrikstad where we met up with friend Bjorg and distant cousin Torunn and had a great sightseeing day of their town. We first went to Torunn's where we dropped the car and had a house tour before walking over to the old town, where we got a tour by Bjorg of the walled city. Saw cannons, ramparts, mote, draw bridge, many school kids on field trip and feeding ducks,... missed the old cat from last year that hung out on the bridge-word is she had died since Jean and I were there last August.
We then walked back to Torunns and then drove in the car to see some Bronze and Iron Age Petroglyps, runestone graves, the musical light tower for the blind. (Still no CD made of the music you hear as the light of day changes the tunes).
Back into town, we stopped in the new part of town along the Glomma river for a lunch of local Borg beer, pizza, baked potatoes and salad and of course more visiting while we enjoyed the sunshine in the outdoor seating area along the river.
After lunch we walked along the river some more, past the library, churches, parks, and around Bjorgs old neighborhood. Also saw the hospital where both ladies were born years ago.
Then Bjorg dropped us off at the train station on her way to class and we had an hour more to chat and eat some birthday ice cream with Torunn (her BDAY is tomorrow) before catching an earlier train back to OSlo.
We were all pooped and decided to go back to Oslo early and just hang out in the hotel and watch the soccer game. CJ and I walked by the new Opera House in Oslo where I had fun taking many photos at various angles of the very modern new building before retiring to our room for a quiet and relaxing night.
Tomorrow we head for Orebro and to pack Grahams junk up.
